Justin Canha creates emotive charcoal portraits and water-based paintings. Additionally, Justin composes computer-generated animations of invented characters frame-by-frame; this work was recently incorporated into a hip-hop music video. His mark-making is decisive and expressive, infusing his drawings with strong contours and bold gestures.

At 16 years old, Justin Canha is the youngest artist represented by Ricco|Maresca. His work first appeared on the New York art scene in 2005, in the “Autism/Aspergers/Art” exhibition at Ricco|Maresca Gallery. Canha has exhibited at the Great Hall at Cooper Union, Rhode Island School of Design, the Beacon Firehouse Gallery, among others.
