George Widener was born in 1962 in Ohio. He is a high functioning autistic savant, and has been diagnosed as Aspergers. George Widener has many thousand historical dates in his memory and more than a thousand census population statistics; George is also defined as a lightning calendar calculator.

His work can be found in many private and public Outsider Art collections, these include the Bruno Decharme ABCD Collection in Paris, and The Collection de l’Art Brut who have recently acquired five drawings for permanent display.

In 2005 Professor Roger Cardinal’s article ‘The Calendars of George Widener’ was featured in Raw Vision magazine (issue #51) and the New York Times art critic Roberta Smith proclaimed that the artist was ‘One of the Outsider Art Fair’s most significant recent discoveries…’
