This is a solar eclipse as seen from the moon in a scene from the 1955 Rocaterranian science fiction movie Rocketship MDX, inspired by the 1950 American film, Rocketship X-M. At the urging of his dear friend and unofficial advisor, Janet Lingart, President Gorghendi Kahn established Federal Socialist Studios in Ciudad Eldorado. Produced on a shoestring budget, Rocketship MDX was the studio’s first production.
Personal Significance:
Kuhler was fascinated by astronomy, in general, and his connection to it was spiritual in nature. He viewed outer space as the ultimate symbol of freedom and openness. He also loved science fiction movies as an escape from the pressures of everyday life.
